Salvaged Door Turned Dining Room Table Day 2

The second part of our project has us venturing to our wood shop.  The table measures 79"L and our client is looking for something more in the area of 70".  So, we will be taking off 6 inches form the long panel end and 3" from the short end.  This will give us a 1 1/2" border along each panel making it uniform throughout yet still maintaining the integrity of the piece.  In order to do this, we measure from the panel in to our desired dimensions.  Using a pencil, we will mark a line all the way across so that our saw has a path to follow.  Then, using a saw guide, we will make our cut nice and slow making sure to not botch our cut job.  Cut 1.........

For the second cut just flip the door around and follow the same steps/procedure.  Cut 2 and the finished product.........

Tomorrow, we will be putting in the glass inserts that we had made for the panels of the door.  SALVAGE SOMETHING!!!  http://www.kingsofsalvage.com/
